Discussions about sexuality and politics during a weekend away in Bath prove to Nick and Ella that despite their six years together, they don’t have it all figured out.
I wrote, directed, and edited this short film made using entirely improvised dialogue. The actors worked from scripts that included scene headers and only their own character’s thoughts and feelings, and they improvised their dialogue on camera.

Bath was an official selection at Katra Film Series for the Autumn 2020 series!
The screening took place online with films running Oct. 5-10th, 2020. Bath screened Wednesday, Oct. 7th at 7:00pm EST.
Bath won the Silver Whiskers award and Best Ensemble Performance at IndieWorks in New York!
Bath screened in the February lineup at IndieWorks and it won the Silver Whiskers, their critics’ choice award!
It was invited back to screen at the end-of-year round up (online) April 21-25th, 2020. Even better, we were nominated for Best Directing and Best Ensemble… and happily we won Best Ensemble Performance for Joe and Georgia’s work!
Bath was an official selection at YoFiFest in Yonkers! It screened November 7th, 2019!
In its 7th year, YoFiFest offered talkbacks, workshops, parties and screenings to film fans in Yonkers and beyond. It was voted one of the “Top 100 Film Festivals” by FilmFreeway nine times.
Bath screened during the Queer Screen shorts block.

Joseph Cullen is an actor, writer, comedian and theatre maker from Somerset. His company Out Of The Forest Theatre recently Won Best Ensemble at the 2018 Off West End Awards for their production of "Bury The Hatchet". His first one man comedy show "You Having Olaf?" Won Best Newcomer at VAULT Festival 2017.
